As a beneficiary of a grant from the Swiss Cultural in the Western Balkans, Cultural Centre Lindart&Anima has developed a ground-breaking resource to implement Projekt 5.6 – the first and only school of photography in Albania. In March 2007, Projekt 5.6 welcomed the first students for the 10-month courses of professional photography. Beside day courses, evening courses and a program for summer schools on photography, CCLA and Projekt 5.6 organize workshops, exhibitions, panel discussions concerning arts and photography.

Every year we organize Sotiri Prize –international competition for young photographers, in partnership with Municipality of Korca. Sotiri Prize is the most important activity on photography in Albania. Young artists from all over the world are invited to promote their best projects on photography in an exhibition in Korca and another in Tirana, a panel discussion and a bilingual catalogue.

Each year, the majority of our funding must come from private sources. We depend on the support of individuals, trusts, foundations and corporations to help us continue to care for our program of the courses and build our collection, and engage with our audiences. Some 60 new works were added to the Collection from artists and young photographers, and more than thousand people participated in Projekt 5.6 programs and activities during 2008. The generosity of our supporters made much of this possible.

Projekt 5.6 aims to be at the forefront of professional trainings, curatorial thinking and public presentation of photography in Albania, always drawing upon our research and scholarship to enhance our activity program. Our holistic aim is to become the Albanian House of Photography.
